Anonymous voice threads. Start a topic, let the world speak.

Rants is a digital platform that enables anonymous voice-based discussions through threaded conversations. It bridges a gap between existing voice platforms, which typically require user accounts and public identities, and text-based anonymous forums, which lack vocal expression. Rants is designed for users who value both privacy and the emotional nuance conveyed through spoken language—such as researchers seeking candid feedback, community organizers facilitating open dialogue, or individuals exploring sensitive topics without personal attribution.
The platform requires no account creation or sign-up process, lowering barriers to participation while maintaining a structured, topic-driven format. All interactions occur via voice notes, and users retain control over their anonymity through optional voice filtering and link-based access.
A user begins by creating a topic—such as a question, statement, or prompt—and receives a unique shareable link. Others access the topic via this link and record an anonymous voice note directly in their browser, with no software installation or account required. Each voice note appears as a threaded response under the original topic, and users may reply to specific notes to build layered, contextual exchanges.
Voice recordings are processed client-side where possible; optional voice filters alter pitch and timbre to enhance speaker anonymity. Once recorded, notes can be reviewed, replayed, and exported as video files containing synchronized audio and a simple visual representation (e.g., animated waveform or static background). The platform does not store voice data beyond active session requirements unless explicitly retained per user export actions.
Rants supports use cases where authenticity and psychological safety are critical: qualitative research interviews requiring candid participant perspectives, mental health peer support discussions, organizational feedback collection on sensitive policies, and creative brainstorming sessions where contributors prefer vocal spontaneity over written reflection. Its no-sign-up model increases participation rates among hesitant or privacy-conscious users, while thread structure preserves conversational coherence absent in linear voice feeds. Exported video clips enable sharing in presentations, reports, or internal communications without exposing contributor identities.
