How to Transcribe a Voice Memo

Prepare the recording, review the result, and export the format you need.

Step 1

Save the memo to your device

Open the recording in your recorder app and use Share or Export. Save the audio to Files or your computer; menu names vary by device.

Step 2

Upload the saved audio

Choose the file in the uploader, select the spoken language, and start transcription. A private recorder-app link is not an audio upload.

Step 3

Turn the transcript into useful notes

Replay unclear words, correct dates and names, then copy the reviewed text or download TXT or DOCX.

Can I paste a private Voice Memos or iCloud link?

Use the downloaded audio file for this workflow. A private share link may require access that FastScribe does not have.

Does this record my microphone live?
