Your screen. Your data. Record videos, capture screenshots.

Kliper is a desktop application designed for screen recording and screenshot capture with privacy as its foundational principle. It operates entirely offline by default, requiring no user account, performing no telemetry or tracking, and collecting zero usage data. The software supports macOS and Windows platforms and features a clean, minimal interface without bundled software or unnecessary features.
Kliper targets professionals and individuals who require reliable screen capture for documentation, communication, or knowledge sharing—such as software developers reporting bugs, educators creating tutorials, product managers recording demos, or technical support staff preparing visual explanations. Its architecture prioritizes local data sovereignty: all recordings and screenshots are stored exclusively on the user’s device unless explicitly uploaded by the user.
Kliper follows a three-stage workflow centered on user control and data locality. First, users initiate recording or screenshot capture via a one-click interface, selecting from full screen, active window, or custom region modes. Audio input (microphone) and webcam feed can be optionally overlaid during video recording. Upon completion, recordings are saved locally and immediately available for preview in the application.
Second, all media remains stored on the user’s device. Kliper does not implement cloud synchronization, auto-uploads, or background data transmission. Users retain full ownership and control over file location, naming, and retention. The local history panel provides chronological and searchable access to all recordings and screenshots.
Third, sharing is opt-in and explicit. Users may manually upload videos to YouTube or Google Drive through integrated publishing workflows, generating shareable links. Screenshots remain local by default and are not supported for cloud upload. No data leaves the device unless the user initiates an export action.
Kliper enables secure, reproducible documentation workflows where data sensitivity is paramount—for example, capturing internal system behavior during bug reporting without exposing proprietary interfaces or credentials. Its local editing capability eliminates dependency on third-party video tools, streamlining tutorial creation for internal training or public-facing content. The absence of telemetry and account requirements simplifies deployment in regulated environments such as enterprise IT, education institutions, or government settings where compliance with data residency policies is mandatory. Additionally, the one-time Pro license model ensures long-term cost predictability and avoids recurring subscription overhead.
