Your Personal Life Infrastructure

Penauts is a personal infrastructure platform that enables users to create lightweight, purpose-built applications—called helpers—for managing everyday personal data and routines. It is designed for individuals who need flexible, low-friction tools to track habits, expenses, health information, learning activities, or other recurring tasks without the overhead of full-featured apps or complex setup. Target users include students, caregivers, tradespeople, small business owners, and anyone seeking structured yet adaptable ways to log and analyze personal information across contexts.
Unlike traditional productivity apps, Penauts does not require predefined templates or rigid workflows. Instead, it leverages natural language understanding to translate user descriptions into functional helpers that operate seamlessly within existing communication channels—primarily WhatsApp and Telegram—as well as via web interface. The system emphasizes immediacy, accessibility, and contextual awareness, allowing users to interact through text, voice, or image input without switching applications.
Penauts operates through a four-stage workflow: describe, generate, customize, and use. First, the user describes a personal tracking or automation need—such as expense monitoring or habit tracking—in natural language. The system then generates a minimal helper tailored to that purpose. Users may optionally refine its behavior—for example, by adding fields, setting reminders, or configuring data visualization widgets—but default functionality is immediately usable.
Input is accepted across three primary channels: the web application, WhatsApp, and Telegram. Each channel supports text, voice, and image input. Voice notes are transcribed and interpreted; photos (e.g., receipts) are processed for relevant data extraction; and text commands are parsed for intent and entities (e.g., "coffee €4.50" is recognized as an expense entry with amount and category). The system automatically routes each input to the appropriate helper based on semantic analysis, eliminating manual selection.
Once data is logged, users can retrieve insights through the "Ask Penauts" command—accessible via keyboard shortcut (⌘K) in the web app or via direct message in chat clients. This interface supports summarization (e.g., weekly expense totals), comparative analysis (e.g., time spent across activities), and cross-helper reporting (e.g., correlating mood logs with workout frequency).
Penauts provides practical value across diverse domains. For personal finance, users log purchases via quick text or voice and later query spending patterns by category, date range, or merchant. In health management, caregivers and patients log medication adherence, symptoms, or vitals using simple phrases, building auditable histories for clinical review. Students track study sessions with contextual details (subject, duration, format), while tradespeople document job progress via photo evidence and timestamped notes—reducing disputes and supporting invoicing.
Small business operators use Penauts to capture field expenses, equipment maintenance logs, or customer interactions without disrupting workflow. Its ability to function entirely within messaging platforms reduces friction for users who prioritize continuity over app-switching. Because helpers are ephemeral and task-specific, they avoid feature bloat and support just-in-time tool creation—making Penauts particularly effective for transient or evolving personal needs.
