The invisible desktop AI tutor

Visnly is a native Windows desktop study assistant that provides on-screen, context-aware help through a lightweight overlay. It delivers real-time answers, study guide generation, and live transcription without requiring users to copy, paste, or switch applications. The overlay is designed to remain hidden during screen sharing and to be quickly dismissed with a hotkey.
The platform supports Windows 10 and 11 and is geared toward students, educators, and self-learners who want to streamline studying, generate practice materials from their own content, and capture lectures or meetings for later review. A web dashboard complements the desktop app for accessing study materials and transcripts from any browser.
Visnly runs as a floating overlay on Windows. When positioned over relevant content, it reads what is behind the overlay to provide answers, definitions, explanations, and reasoning without requiring copy-paste. Users can choose between Smart (fast responses) and Brilliant (complex reasoning) modes, ask follow-up questions via “Chat with Screen,” and rely on multi-image context and auto-capture to handle multi-part questions. A hotkey enables instant hide/show for the overlay.
Beyond on-screen assistance, Visnly offers a Study Hub where users can upload PDFs, paste text, provide links (including YouTube), or use transcripts. The system generates structured outputs such as summaries, flashcards, quizzes, key terms, study guides, and test prep materials. A live transcription module records lectures, meetings, podcasts, videos, or calls in real time, capturing microphone and/or system audio, and lets users query transcripts with AI.
Visnly centralizes study workflows: it helps learners understand on-screen material, turn class resources into structured study assets, and capture spoken content for later review. Educators can quickly generate instructional materials from notes or transcripts. Professionals and language learners can transcribe and summarize meetings, talks, or podcasts and extract key points or action items.
Practical applications include preparing for exams with automatically generated practice materials, reviewing lecture recordings with searchable transcripts, consolidating notes in a single library, and accessing content from any browser through the web dashboard. Because it is a native desktop app, it does not require switching devices or browser extensions.
